Why we wrote this book...

We, the authors, wanted to create a family legacy book that would make it easy for someone to write their memories and share them with younger generations.  The question and answer format of   “Reflections” does this by triggering the writer’s thoughts and memories.

We grew up living close to our grandparents and other extended family. We learned about our family heritage by hearing our parents and grandparents talk about their past.

Their stories about “Remember when…” and “Back in my day…” were repeated over and over, becoming family legacy to record in our own memories. We believe that when people know their family history, it builds pride in who they are and where they came from.

By the time we grew older and started our own families, the world had changed and modern day life found family members living far apart.
